Kaamelott: the crucial question that Alexandre Astier asks himself about the 3rd part

Alexandre Astier spoke about the conclusion of his “Kaamelott” trilogy, and in particular a decisive question which remains to be decided.

Since the announcement that the second part of Kaamelott at the cinema will be divided into two feature films, Alexandre Astier had rather remained discreet about the future of the trilogy. Luckily for fans, the creator of the comic versions of Perceval, Karadoc, and Merlin recently gave an interview that reveals more.

Guest of Geneva International Film Festivalthe director and author mentioned an event that could mark the end of the saga, the possible conclusion of the third and final part of his trilogy:

I’m not there yet, because it will be the end of the 3rd film, so it’s not the time yet, but I will still have to ask myself the question of whether Arthur dies.

After a while, he continues, recalling that the texts from which he freely draws inspiration answer this question:

(…) The legend is quite clear on this, all the same. So I’m not saying what I’m going to do, I don’t know, but it’s a subject that will inevitably come up on the table.

Arthur Pendragon’s life is therefore totally in the hands of Astier, who has the choice whether or not to validate the ancient texts or to create his own mythology. The author has often said that he wanted to be there, we didn’t expect him…
