Kaamelott: this little object that all the fans were waiting for

The “Kaamelott” saga is now available in derivative products, the first toy (and decorative object) joining a well-known collection, that of “Funko Pop!”.

Alexandre Astier is currently working on the screenplay for Kaamelott Second part, but good news arrived in the mail yesterday! The hero of his saga, Arthur Pendragon, received a unique goodie, “Funko premiere of a French character / French work of fiction!”.

On the networks, Alexandre Astier takes the opportunity to develop Kaamelott’s universe a little by commenting on the outfit and look of the character transformed into toy. We thus discover that he carries two swords, recovered during his stay in the Duchy of Aquitaine, but also that he wears the armor of Uther Pendragon, his late father.

The former king also wears his trusty “medallion of Ogma”, the god of eloquence, reputed to strike down his enemies with speech. A medallion which had a crucial role in episode 8 (or episode 45 in the TV version) of Book V, in a scene placing Arthur facing Anton, his adoptive father, played by Guy Bedos.

Before Kaamelott, there was a Funko Pop of another French work, Asterix and Obelix, released in 2018 and now findable on the net at a high price.

Funko Pop!

Alexandre Astier is actively preparing Kaamelott Second part, a feature film which will be divided into two parts which will be released in cinemas in 2024 a few months apart, like soon The Three Musketeers, another big French production. The first part, D’Artagnan, will be released on April 5, and the second, Milady, on December 13.
