Kai Wiesinger is known as an actor, but he is also making a name for himself as an author. In his work he takes on the subject of family. The father of the blended family gives a first insight into his book in the new issue of GALA.

Kai Wiesinger, 56, and Bettina Zimmermann, 47, have been in a relationship since 2014. The two live in a patchwork family consisting of one child, Wiesinger’s two daughters from a previous marriage and Zimmermann’s son from a previous relationship. A book has emerged from his experiences as a thoroughbred dad. “Love is what holds all the shit together,” is the title of his work.

Kai Wiesinger chats with Annika Lau about his family life at GALA

In 20 chapters, Kai Wiesinger tells stories of normal everyday madness and funny moments from the lives of parents who also want to remain a couple. Viewers get a first impression of his patchwork life in a conversation with Annika Lau, 43, at GALA.

Wiesinger is ruthlessly honest about how he experienced his daughter’s departure. “I find it very sad when the children move out. It hurts a lot,” says the actor. And he goes even further: “I thought it was terrible when the first daughter moved into her own apartment.”

Strict upbringing?

When it comes to cell phones, Kai Wiesinger is rather strict: “Well, we try to ban it as much as we possibly can. But of course there are locks. Where you can then block the cell phone, which is only free for certain functions. […] The little one doesn’t have such a device and we take it away from the middle one.” Wiesinger sees the danger above all in a possible misuse of private pictures.

Kai Wiesinger gives further insights into his everyday life on October 15, 2002 from 5:45 p.m. on RTL or RTL+.
