One year late, the Eberhof thriller “Kaiserschmarrndrama” finally starts in the cinema. A lot of fun and a farewell await the fans.

The Eberhoferkrimi adaptation “Kaiserschmarrndrama” (release: August 5th) opened the Munich Film Festival a few weeks ago and now the seventh film in the successful series by director Ed Herzog (55) is finally coming to regular cinemas a year late.

The fans of the Niederkaltenkirchen ensemble can look forward to a hearty reunion with all their antiheroes: In addition to Sebastian Bezzel (50) and Simon Schwarz (50) as the investigator dream team, Franz Eberhofer and Rudi Birkenberger are among others Lisa Maria Potthoff (43) as Susi , Enzi Fuchs (84) as grandmother, Eisi Gulp (65) as papa Eberhofer, Gerhard Wittmann (born 1964) as brother Leopold and dog Ludwig again in the party – for one of them, however, it is the last Eberhofer film. In the credits, the fan favorite is duly celebrated again.

The film is dedicated to the husband of successful author Rita Falk (57). Former police officer Robert Falk died in July 2020 at the age of 60.

This is what the “Kaiserschmarrndrama” is about

The idyll of the Lower Bavarian police officer Franz Eberhofer is in danger. This is less because a chubby webcam star was murdered – Franz approaches this case with the usual slowness. Unfortunately, his annoying but helpful co-investigator Rudi Birkenberger is currently in a wheelchair and blames Franz for it.

But Eberhofer’s calm is only really threatened by his girlfriend Susi and his brother Leopold, who are building a narrow-minded double family house with a communal sauna next to the Eberhoferhof. Above all, this goes against the grain of Papa Eberhofer.

And as if village life with Franconian rockers and marijuana meatballs wasn’t colorful enough, Franz also has to discover that his friends Simmerl (Stephan Zinner, 47) and Flötzinger (Daniel Christensen, 42) were regular customers of the murder victim …

Conclusion

The wait for the Bavarian Bond was worth it, because this lovingly, detailed and extremely cleverly implemented book adaptation is in no way inferior to its predecessors. Even more, for Simon Schwarz it is “maybe even the best of the series so far”, as the Austrian actor said in an interview with spot on news. “One of the reasons I find it so successful is that it also deals with more serious topics. Something like that is always good for a comedy. A good comedy must also be able to function as a drama, and this film could do that,” said the film expert.

And last but not least, the reunion with the actresses Christine Neubauer (59) and Olivia Pascal (64) makes the film worth seeing. After more than ten years, Neubauer starred in a movie again – this time she swirls with blonde hair across the screen. Fans of the 1980s series “Irgendwie und Sowieso” (1986) and “Die Schwarzwaldklinik” (1985-1996) in particular rave about the name Olivia Pascal …
