At the Olympic Games, Annika Schleu caused a stir because she hit a horse. Kaley Cuoco has offered to buy the animal.

US actress Kaley Cuoco (35) is a big horse fan. And the incident at the Olympic Games in Tokyo, in which pentathlete Annika Schleu (31) hit the horse that was drawn to her with a whip, apparently does not leave the Hollywood star indifferent either. The enthusiastic rider who is married to the horse trainer Karl Cook (30) and owns many horses herself, offered to buy the animal in an Instagram story.

Cuoco wrote, among other things, that she felt it was her “duty” to comment on this “shame”. The incident was a “disgusting” presentation of “our sport in many ways”. In addition, the actress attacked the rider and her trainer. The Big Bang Theory star added, “I’ll buy this horse right now and show it the life it should have. What is your price.” She later posted press releases on her Instagram posts and wrote that it was not a joke.

Complaint against athlete and trainer

In the meantime, the German Animal Welfare Association has also become active. In a message it says: “After the cruel incidents at the modern women’s pentathlon in the context of the Olympic Games, the German Animal Welfare Association filed a criminal complaint against the German rider Annika Schleu and her trainer Kim Raisner for cruelty to animals and aiding in cruelty to animals.”

Schleu had defended himself against the allegations in an interview with “Die Zeit”: “I did not treat the horse extremely harshly. I had a crop with me that was checked beforehand. Just like the spurs. I am really not into any animal cruelty deliberately.” But she also stated that she might have said earlier, “okay, it just has no value”.
