today announced that pixstor™ and ngenea®, shared storage and data orchestration solutions, will be integrated into the content production space at the Amazon Web Services (AWS) booth (5.C80) at IBC 2022 (International Broadcasting Convention).
AWS will showcase a series of end-to-end cloud-based workflows, demonstrating how industry-leading tools for editing, compositing, finishing, grading, and quality control (QC) can be used for a complete production in cloud mode. These workflows will be supported by pixitmedia’s flagship data storage and orchestration software, pixstor and ngenea.
This announcement follows pixitmedia’s admission to the AWS Independent Software Vendor (ISV) Accelerate program, a co-selling program for AWS Partners who provide software solutions that run on or integrate with AWS.
Editing, special effects (VFX), and grading work not only becomes possible in the cloud, but can bring huge tangible benefits in terms of performance, collaboration, scalability, and profitability for producers. .
At booth 5.C80, AWS will demonstrate the five-step build process lifecycle. The sequences filmed live by a camera will be injected into a collaborative environment in cloud mode using the Moxion platform. These sequences will be edited in Adobe® Premiere® Pro and retouched in Flame®, Autodesk®’s finishing and special effects solution. In a fourth step, FilmLight Baselight will carry out the calibration, and finally the content will go through Colorfront Streaming and Broker Service for quality control, in direct playback also on Amazon S3.
Uncompressed 4K high-resolution files for all five stages of the production process will be mounted on-site, on the powerful dedicated media storage infrastructure, and powered by pixstor and ngenea. Uncompressed 10-bit videos will be streamed to the booth from cloud-based applications. The demonstration will use the latest AWS Cloud Digital Interface (AWS CDI), NewTek Network Device Interface (NDI), Colorfront Streaming and Broker Service technologies, via a secure Internet connection to an Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (Amazon VPC). Amazon EC2 compute, Amazon Elastic Block Store and Amazon S3 Storage support the entire pixstor and ngenea solution.
