Kamala Harris shared a picture with stepdaughter Ella Emhoff. In the touching post she congratulated her on graduation.

Reason to be happy: Kamala Harris’ (56) stepdaughter, Ella Emhoff (21), has successfully completed her training at the “Parsons School of Design”. Harris, the Vice President of the USA, took this as an opportunity to meet Emhoff to congratulate with a touching post on Instagram. She is “so proud” of the artist.

“Congratulations to our daughter Ella for her graduation,” she wrote about the picture, which shows both women arm in arm. “Keep dreaming with ambition and there will be nothing that you cannot achieve.” The politician concluded the post with “In love, Momala”.

“Momala” instead of “Stepmama”

Harris had already revealed in the past that the children of her husband Douglas Emhoff (56), Ella and Cole (26), did not want to call the Vice President a “stepmother”. Instead they suggested “Momala”, a mixture of the English “Mom” for Mama and “Kamala”. In an interview with the US magazine “People” she said in the summer of 2020 that she has a very close relationship with her siblings and also their mother.

Father Douglas Emhoff also congratulated his daughter with a shared photo on Instagram. “My darling Ella, we are such proud parents,” he wrote. “We love you so much and we really look forward to everything you will do in the future.”
