Good news ! The Prime Video platform now hosts a series that deserves to be known: Dragon Ball.

And this happens directly through the Warner Pass, available on the giant Amazon platform.

Dragon Ball is back (in uncensored version!)

It was Wednesday, March 2, 1988, some may still remember it, the Club Dorothée was broadcasting the very first episode of a series unpublished in France: Dragon Ball (some of which still remember the game on NES…) . The animated series will very quickly meet with enormous success, but it will be necessary to wait until 1993 to see the first manga land on newsstands, under the aegis of Glénat, in 1993.

At the very end of last year, Dragon Ball lovers were able to get their hands on a first Blu-Ray box containing no less than 68 episodes. For the past few days, Amazon Prime Video has been offering the adventures of Son Goku and his friends, through Toonami, accessible with the Warner Pass.

Dragon Ball is back, on Toonami

Excellent news therefore for all those who wish to rediscover this cult animated series, which is coupled with other good news, namely an uncensored version. Indeed, the series broadcast in Club Dorothée was slightly retouched to remove certain passages, in particular the most violent ones, as well as the gravelly allusions of the character of Master Roshi with that of the young Bulma.

It should also be noted that the censored passages do not benefit from any French dubbing, and are therefore offered… in Japanese.

Finally, remember that the Warner Pass is added to the price of the Prime Video subscription, and that it is reserved for Amazon Prime subscribers. After an initial 7-day free trial, the service is billed at a price of €9.99/month.

In addition to HBO, Warner Bros TV, Adult Swim and Toonami, content from various channels such as Eurosport (1 and 2), TCM Cinema, Cartoon Network, Boomerang, Cartoonito, Discovery Channel, Investigation is offered live and in replay. Discovery (ID), Discovery Science or even CNN.

Prime Video

  • Fairly reasonable subscription price
  • Direct access to other services
  • X-Ray functionality

With its subscription price still (slightly) more attractive than the others, Prime Video is a very interesting SVoD solution. If it still lacks a few additional flagship series to be able to be fully compared to Netflix, the platform offers a varied and sufficiently rich catalog to keep you busy for a while. It also pulls out of the game with its X-Ray functionality and excellent video quality which can help forgive a few bugs here and there.
