Kanye West and Drake plan a benefit concert at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum to campaign for a detainee to be pardoned.

The rappers Kanye West (44) and Drake (35) will hold a benefit concert at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on December 9th to campaign for the pardon of the jailed Chicago gang leader Larry Hover (70).

West shared on Instagram a poster for the event with the caption “God’s Plan,” a nod to the title of Drake’s 2018 hit. The “Jail” performer is listed as the headliner, while his Canadian colleague is the special guest of the evening.

Already in October, Drake’s mentor James Prince (56) shared on Instagram with that West would work to “free our brother Larry Hoover”. At the time, the music manager did not reveal what it was all about.

Four days ago he posted a photo together with the two music stars and commented: “What a beautiful night I had in Canada last night. Let’s make history, December 9th, Free Larry Hoover Concert.”

The head of a drug ring is also said to have done good

Larry Hover, co-founder of the criminal organization Disciples, is serving six life sentences for ordering the murder of a 19-year-old drug dealer in 1973 and later running a drug ring from prison that grossed an estimated $ 100 million a year.

West said in 2018 at a meeting with then President Donald Trump (75) in the White House that the release of Hoover was “very important” to him. “In an alternate universe, he is me,” said the Grammy winner in a dissolute speech. “And I have to free him because he did good things in Chicago.”
