Kanye West: Rapper signs 10-year deal with apparel manufacturer Gap

For the next ten years, rapper and entrepreneur Kanye West is apparently to be a major factor in the fortunes of clothing manufacturer Gap.

Rapper Kanye West (43, "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy") has signed a lucrative and long-standing deal with the US clothing manufacturer Gap. The coup was given by the husband of Kim Kardashian (39) known even via Twitter, The US side "TMZ" meanwhile has learned that this should be a ten-year collaboration. If this is true, West could launch its own Yeezy Gap fashion line by 2030.

The first Gap clothes from West are expected to come on the market in the first half of 2021 and – hard to imagine for the self-centered musician – are not luxury goods, but are being produced for the masses. So in a different concept than the one that West pursues with its in-house fashion brand Yeezy – a simple cardigan can cost just under 1,500 euros. That the deal has now come about can certainly be seen as a long-held wish of the rapper. In 2015 he was quoted as saying that he wanted to be the "Steve Jobs from Gap" …
