In 2015, a candidate for Love is in the meadow had been manhandled by a contender. Karine Lemarchand remembers it very well.

Karine Lemarchand has been supporting farmers and producers in France in their quest for love for 17 seasons. The host who saw the birth and growth of the show Love is in the meadow, living with intensity each beginning of love story. But also every failure and broken heart. Karine Lemarchand is not only the one who presents this popular program, she has also become over time an advisor to the candidates of Love is in the meadow.

This is why she finds it difficult to accept certain failures, sometimes feeling responsible. As was the case for Thierry, a winemaker who had participated in the show in 2015. The producer had had a bad experience because of a suitor with other intentions than to find love. This participant was called Annick. Karine Lemarchand still resents him for having sought notoriety by participating in the program and by using Thierry’s feelings.

Karine Lemarchand offers Thierry a new chance to be forgiven

The host, however, transformed her anger into vigilance. The production offered Thierry a new chance to participate in Love is in the meadow. He will be part of the cast for the next season.

“We remained close, with Thierry. He was very supported by the former producer and the shrink of the show. Deep down inside us, there was, I believe, guilt”, says Karine Lemarchand in an interview with TV Cable Sat. The production and Karine Lemarchand tried to support the unfortunate candidate who experienced Annick’s departure as a betrayal and took away the desire to seek love again. The 65-year-old winemaker seems ready to try his luck again seven years later.

Karine Lemarchand assures that Annick’s case will not happen again. “Today it wouldn’t happen again. We would take the girl out of the program before the end. She was so hated because she made fun of Thierry and just wanted to be on TV that it served lesson”, says Karine Lemarchand who watches over her candidates. “Perhaps we also made ourselves feel guilty by telling us that we should perhaps have investigated his suitor more”underlines the facilitator.
