View of the Louvre and a huge dressing room: The new owner of Karl Lagerfeld’s apartment can look forward to a lot of luxury.

Karl Lagerfeld’s (1933-2019) apartment in Paris has a new owner. The luxury apartment of the fashion designer, who died in 2019, was offered at auction on Tuesday. As reported by “Figaro immobilier”, among others, the apartment was ultimately sold for ten million euros.

Lagerfeld’s former home in the French capital has many amenities, according to the report. The three-room apartment extends over 260 square meters. The dressing room alone is said to be over 50 square meters in size. According to media reports, the apartment in the seventh arrondissement of Paris also offers a breathtaking view of the Seine and the Louvre. The minimum bid for the property was 5.3 million euros. The new owner now paid around eleven million euros including fees, almost twice as much.

Karl Lagerfeld lived in the apartment for ten years

Karl Lagerfeld lived in the apartment, which he reportedly had designed in a futuristic style, for about ten years. The fashion designer died on February 19, 2019 in Paris at the age of 85. The city is closely linked to his career. For decades he convinced the world’s largest fashion houses such as Fendi, Chloé and ultimately Chanel with his unique creations and launched his own fashion brand with his unmistakable style.

The life of the fashion icon will soon be available to admire on the screen. The series “Becoming Karl Lagerfeld” will be shown from June 7, 2024. All six episodes, in which Daniel Brühl (45) becomes Karl Lagerfeld, will be available internationally on Disney+ and in the USA on Hulu. According to a statement, the series begins in 1972, when Karl Lagerfeld is 38 years old, not yet sporting his iconic hairstyle, and working as a little-known fashion designer for ready-to-wear.
