Health Minister Karl Lauterbach has a new partner: the politician is taken again, as he has now confirmed.
Federal Health Minister Karl Lauterbach (60) apparently has a new partner. The SPD politician told “Bild” about his relationship: “I’m glad that Elisabeth Niejahr is in my life.” The 59-year-old is a well-known journalist and managing director of the “Strengthening Democracy” department of the Hertie Foundation. Niejahr also worked for “Spiegel”, “Zeit” and “Wirtschaftswoche” and is the author of several books.
Karl Lauterbach separated from his wife in 2004
Karl Lauterbach was married from 1996 to 2010; The separation took place in 2004. There are four children from the marriage. He has another child from another relationship. In an interview with the magazine “Bunte” in 2021, he said: “I actually don’t want to stay single for the rest of my life.” But he didn’t feel lonely at all, he said. “Many politicians are lonely, I’m not affected. I have friends, I’m not the nerd some people think I am. I’m fun-loving, do a lot of sports, play table tennis.” But he also explained at the time: “To be completely happy, I am missing a loving wife.”
