Karolina Kurkova's family is growing. The model is looking forward to the third child with husband Archie Drury.
Model Karolina Kurkova (36) could "not be happier or more excited". There are offspring in the house: You and husband Archie Drury (48) are expecting their third child. The native Czech announced this via Instagram. On Wednesday (December 16), she published two photos, some of which showed her naked with a clearly visible baby bump. In Czech she wrote: "We will be 5."
Kurkova has been married to US entrepreneur Drury since 2009. They already have sons Tobin Jack (11) and Noah Lee (5) together. The third pregnancy was a surprise for the couple, as Kurkova writes in a personally written essay for the magazine "Glamor". "I believe things happen when they are supposed to."
The third pregnancy is different
For the model, the third pregnancy feels different. Unlike back then, it does not want to hide its changing body. "For twenty-one years I modeled, documented my entire life in photos," writes the 36-year-old. "But I never wanted to take pregnancy photos because I never felt beautiful when I showed my pregnancy bump. It's sad when I think about it."
The reason for her reluctance at the time was her belly button. "I was born three months early and had surgery as an infant to repair an umbilical hernia and the inner wall of my abdomen that wasn't closed." For as long as she can remember, Kurkova had "a shallow dimple" at the site of the belly button and "a few light scars". If she is pregnant, her baby bump is "not perfectly round".
This "small imperfection", as she writes, she did not want to or was not allowed to display in the fashion world that was then striving for perfection. In the meantime, however, a change has taken place. "Now we're in a different time in the fashion industry, where it's all about accepting ourselves for who we are," explains the model. The third pregnancy therefore gives the 36-year-old the opportunity to "finally feel free in my body". And let the world see it.
