In addition to fire brigades from the affected areas and their neighboring regions, a total of four police and army helicopters and 100 soldiers with heavy equipment, water and mountain rescue, dog teams, the Red Cross and the road administration are also deployed in the Villach and Villach-Land districts to be able to cope with the situation and help affected people and animals. “Our population can rely on us 100 percent. Especially in the case of such tragic natural disasters, we are immediately on the spot to provide support,” says military commander Walter Gitschthaler.
