The week of March 17, Kate Middleton, 40, and Prince William, 39, will attend at the traditional St. Patrick’s Day Parade. This event will take place at the Mons barracks in Aldershot, alongside the 1st Battalion Irish Guards. This is’a particularly amusing tradition to which the Cambridges will indulge before embarking on a tour of the Caribbean. Note that the royal couple is used to this parade.
This event feels like a breath of fresh air. Indeed, this tradition allows the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to leave aside the protocols and make room for fun and entertainment. Note also that Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, is Colonel of Irish Guards. It is therefore quite normal to see him attend this event alongside his wife, Kate Middleton, every year. Note that Kate Middleton and Prince William have it missed the last two years. In fact, over the past two years, several reasons have made the event did not take place. In 2020, the majority of the regiment was deployed overseas. As for last year, the pandemic linked to the Covid-19 got the better of this tradition.
Kate Middleton and Prince William, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are going to have a pretty busy schedule
Although the fun will be there at this St. Patrick’s Day Paradeit is all the same a commitment for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. At this event, it is expected that Kate Middleton, 40, presents sprigs of clover to the officers as well as the guards. This is a royal tradition that has existed since 1901. In turn, the officers as well as the guards will pass on these clovers to their colleagues.
It is also expected that the mother of Prince George, 8, Prince Charlotte, 6, and Prince Louis, 3, offers his own shamrock to the regimental mascot. This is a one Irish Wolfhound. Also, the Crown Prince will take part in the salute during the parade. After which, the couple will meet the members of the regiment to then take an official photo.
