There were salutes, waves, laughter and singing: The Royal Family got their money’s worth at the “Trooping the Colour” parade. These three fashion details on Kate, Charlotte and Co. are particularly eye-catching.

At the “Trooping the Colour” birthday parade in honour of King Charles, 75, is chasing one highlight after the other. 1. Was this fashion icon Kate’s role model?

Not only fashion designers are inspired by iconic looks from the pastbut also the royals themselves. While Kate’s looks in the past have often been inspired by fashion role models or she even opted for the same details as her mother-in-law Princess Diana, it has long been known. For her big appearance – the first in 2024 – she has chosen another icon who obviously inspired her “Trooping the Colour” look.

The film “My Fair Lady” was released in 1964 and became a box office hit because Audrey Hepburn plays the main role of Eliza Doolittle. One of her glamorous film looks is astonishingly similar to Kate’s outfit. Although her look is more captivating with simple elegance than voluminous tulle, the details are the same: her black and white striped waist belt is found in Audrey’s gown, as is the dominant bow, placed diagonally at chest height. The sideways position of the hat and its color also seem familiar. Catherine’s “Trooping the Color” outfit seems like the simpler little sister of Audrey Hepburn’s “My Fair Lady” costume.
