This is a highly anticipated event. On December 8, Kate Middleton organized her traditional Christmas concert, under the ancestral vaults of Westminster Abbey. The opportunity for the Princess of Wales to thank all the Britons who have gone above and beyond to help others throughout the year. For this 2023 edition, the spotlight has been placed on early childhood, in a nod to the countryside Shaping Us from the wife of Prince William, launched last January. Kate Middleton thus chooses to thank those who support and work for babies, young children and families across the United Kingdom. The abbey was filled with festive decorations on the themes of Christmas and more particularly childhood. Last year, the event was organized in tribute to Elizabeth II, who died in September 2022. In 2021, honors were given to the heroes of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The nation’s best-loved songs will be sung by the Westminster Abbey Choir. The voices of other guests will also delight spectators such as those of Jacob Collier, Freya Ridings and James Bay for the new generation and a special duet from Beverly Knight and Adam Lambert. Readings and poems will also be part of the highlights. Prince William should play a key role and thus provide discreet support to his wife. The royal family united for the occasion
Once again, the event brought together several members of the royal family. The appearance of Kate Middleton was closely scrutinized, as was that of her husband, Prince William. Last year, the two eldest, George and Charlotte, made a notable appearance.
In addition to Wales, King Charles III and Queen Camilla also participated in this special broadcast and showed more than ever their support for Kate Middleton in these troubled times. Unsurprisingly, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will not be present.
