Keanu Reeves dreams of playing Batman in a movie

If Keanu Reeves will soon put on the Batman mask in Krypto and the Super-Animals, the actor confided his desire to one day play an “older Batman” in an action film.

On July 27, Krypto and the Super-Animals will be released in cinemas, an American animated film directed by Jared Stern and Sam Levine in which Krypto, Superman’s super-dog, will find himself facing an immense challenge: to save his master, kidnapped by Lex Luthor and his evil guinea pig Lulu.

In this film, Keanu Reeves lent his voice to the role of Batman. But then could we one day see the interpreter of Neo in the Matrix in the guise of Bruce Wayne and therefore in his bat costume in an action film? Well in any case, the actor wishes it, even more, he “dream“.

Keanu Reeves reveals it would be a ‘dream’ to play an ‘older Batman’ in live-action

In an interview with Extra at the Krypto and the Super-Animals premiere, Keany Reeves said that “the opportunity to perform, and voice Batman, was awesome” even if it was for a Animation Film.

On whether we might ever see him as Batman in live-action, he said: “It’s always been a dream, but it’s Robert Pattinson who has Batman right now and he’s doing just fine, so maybe one day. Maybe when they need an older Batman“.

If Krypto and the Super-Animals is more about the Justice League’s furry friends, rather than a full-fledged Batman adventure like Pattinson’s film released earlier this year.

However, Keanu Reeves admitted that his role in Krypto and the Super Animals is admittedly a “small role… kinda like a cameo. But even that, just being part of a project that has Dwayne Johnson (who plays Superman’s dog Krypto) and Kevin Hart (who plays Ace the Bathound) in it is awesome, and I got to play Batman“.

An “Older Batman” Live-Action Coming Soon

In the past, Keanu Reeves has played a DC character, John Constantine. In the 2005 film, this character was portrayed as an exorcist and demonologist who believed himself damned to hell for attempting suicide.

And a few years later, through several interviews, Keanu Reeves expressed his desire to return to this role, as well as his dreams of playing the Dark Knight as well as Wolverine.

However, when it comes to an “older Batman”, we’ll instead see Michael Keaton return in the Bat costume in the Flash movie which will be released in 2023. Ben Affleck is also set to reprise the role of Batman for this film.

Plot details are being kept under wraps for now. However, in an interview with the Sunday Times, Michael Keaton said: “I’ll be honest, I don’t want to talk about it because it’s going to take all the fun out of it.

So could we ever see Keanu Reeves as Batman in a live-action movie? The future will tell.
