Keanu Reeves: "Matrix 4" will be an "inspiring love story"

Fans certainly didn't expect that. Keanu Reeves describes the story of "Matrix 4" as a love story.

Keanu Reeves (56) is currently in front of the camera for the fourth part of the "Matrix" series. In the British "The One Show" of the "BBC" he has now revealed new details about the next film in the popular sci-fi universe – and thus revealed surprising things.

"I am thankfully fortunate to be able to work on a new 'Matrix' film," says Reeves, who was connected via video chat. "We have a wonderful director, Lana Wachowski, who wrote a beautiful script that is a love story. It's inspiring." But the fans won't have to do without a lot of action, as the actor explains.

So it is with his character Neo

Reeves also indicated how his character Neo is doing. "I don't want to spoil anything, but I remember that at the end of the third part it didn't look like you would come back," said singer Ronan Keating (43) as a guest presenter. "No, it didn't, it looked a bit bleak for Neo," Reeves confirms and assures: "Everything will be revealed."

Rumors that "Matrix 4" could be a prequel, that is, a predecessor to the existing story, is also cleared up by Reeves. He explains, "No, no. No going back in time."

In addition to Keanu Reeves as Neo, Carrie-Anne Moss (53) will again be seen as Trinity in the next "Matrix" movie. Laurence Fishburne (59) had recently confirmed that he will not return as Morpheus.
