Keith Richards has spoken out about the death of his bandmate Charlie Watts, stating “I’m still recovering from it.”

Keith Richards (78) has in an interview with the British “Sun” talked about the farewell to bandmate Charlie Watts (1941-2021). “I’m still recovering from that,” admits the musician of the British rock band The Rolling Stones. On August 24, 2021, drummer Watts died at the age of 80. “Charlie is a constant presence and I remember that cheeky little smile I loved pulling out of him,” reveals Richards. His death was a real blow, “but at the same time things have to go on. His successor Steve Jordan is also different.”

Tour is coming up

The Rolling Stones recently had another European tour via Twitter announced. “The stones just keep rolling,” it said, based on the name of the legendary group around frontman Mick Jagger (78). We are very happy to announce the so-called “Sixty” tour in the summer. The starting signal is on June 1, 2022 with a concert in Madrid.

The Stones make their first stop in Germany on June 5th and perform at the Munich Olympic Stadium. On July 27, 2022, there will be another performance in the Veltins Arena in Gelsenkirchen. The Stones had their last appearance in Germany on June 30, 2018 in the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Stuttgart.

“60 years or not, I’m looking forward to it and I expect a lot of fun,” Richards said in an interview with The Sun. The guitarist’s love of music doesn’t make him think about quitting either: “If you do it for so long, it becomes quite natural for the body to do it. In fact, it could get tricky if I didn’t do it.” Richards, who has quit smoking, wants to keep fit before the tour, but he doesn’t have a specific fitness program. “No, God forbid! I ride my bike a little, work out on the treadmill a little, but it’s nothing special.”
