Keith Richards: The "Rolling Stones" guitarist has stopped smoking

Keith Richards (76) finally puts an end to a bad habit. The Rolling Stones guitarist stopped smoking. The musician revealed this in a radio interview with the New York broadcaster "Q104.3". He has been smoke-free since October 2019, according to Richards. "I did it and now I know," said the guitarist jokingly.

Richards had previously tried a few years to get rid of the glimmer stems, but admitted in an interview with the music magazine "NME" in early 2019 that giving up smoking would be harder than quitting heroin. It wasn't until the end of 2018 that Richards announced in an interview with the "Rolling Stone" that he had largely also said goodbye to alcohol. Only occasionally does he treat himself to a glass of wine or a beer. He is also no longer interested in drugs at all.

The show must go on

The Rolling Stones had just released new dates for their "No Filter" tour. In May, June and July the legendary rock band will tour the American continent and play a total of 15 shows. Both singer Mick Jagger (76) and Richards had the feeling after the last tour that they had just warmed up, the musician continued in the radio interview. Therefore, it must go on.
