Keyboardist Ken Hensley has died at the age of 75. His brother Trevor Hensley announced this in a Facebook post this Thursday (November 5th). "It is with a heavy heart that I have to inform you that my brother Ken Hensley passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening. His wife Monica was at his side and stood by Ken in his last minutes," he wrote in the post and added: "We are all at Ground destroyed by this tragic and incredibly unexpected loss. (…) Ken is gone, but he will never be forgotten and will always be in our hearts. " Trevor Hensley also announced that his brother would be buried in a private ceremony in Spain.

Ken Hensley was born in London in 1945 and first played guitar in the 1960s before moving to keyboards in the band The Gods with Stones guitarist Mick Taylor in 1965. After the first two albums, The Gods changed their name several times until the band members finally agreed on Uriah Heep. Hensley wrote some of the band's songs, including the hit "Lady in Black", which he also sang. In 1980 the keyboardist Uriah Heep left for musical reasons and devoted himself to his solo career.
