First announced for 2020, Kerbal Space Program 2 has regularly taken the lead in the wing being pushed back to 2021, 2022, then 2023. Intercept Games has nevertheless managed to put itself in order to offer a first version playable by the general public, for which it has just set the release date.
Kerbal Space Program 2 will be available in Early Access on PC on February 24, 2023 via SteamI’Epic Games Store and other platforms, priced at €49.99. The quirky space conquest simulation game will then receive regular quality of life updates, fixes and more new features detailed in a roadmap, until its final version, which will then be ported to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. But in Early Access, Kerbal Space Program 2 will include:
- Customizable parts and new spaceflight technology : In Kerbal Space Program 2, the surprisingly inventive creations that KSP is known for will be taken to a whole new level. Players will have over 350 new and improved parts at their disposal, including engines, fuel tanks, procedural part systems, and more. The revamped vehicle assembly interface includes part sorting and an overview to make fine adjustments. And of course, new room coloring lets you customize your creations like never before.
- Improved welcome for new players : Kerbal Space Program 2 will create a whole new generation of spaceflight experts who will accidentally find themselves learning the basics of rocket science. New animated tutorials, an improved user interface, and completely revamped assembly and flight interfaces allow experienced and novice players alike to quickly put their creativity to the test without sacrificing the challenge of the original game.
- New tools to optimize your exploration of the universe : Along with other massive new UI/UX improvements, you can now use time warp while accelerating and plan complex maneuvers with ease thanks to the new non-impulse maneuver planner. The new sphere of influence, map iconography and atmosphere indicators make interplanetary maneuvers less random!
- Rich new environments to explore : Unprecedented detail, variety and realism make every celestial body a rewarding destination. Clouds, atmospheric diffusion, and an all-new terrain system combine to take your breath away, from ground level to orbit!
