Kering: New creative director at Alexander McQueen

(CercleFinance.com) – The Kering group (which includes Gucci, Saint Laurent, Bottega Veneta, Balenciaga, Alexander McQueen, Brioni, Boucheron, Pomellato, DoDo, Qeelin, Ginori 1735, as well as Kering Eyewear and Kering Beauté) announces the appointment of Seán McGirr as creative director at Alexander McQueen.

Until then, Seán McGirr was director of ready-to-wear at JW Anderson, a structure he joined in 2020 to first take charge of the men’s collections, then responsibilities in the women’s collections in a second.

Previously, he was Women’s Designer for Dries Van Noten in Antwerp. From 2014 to 2018, he was part of Uniqlo’s creative teams in Tokyo and Paris, working on Christophe Lemaire’s men’s collections.

‘Alexander McQueen is a House that we love passionately, and we are convinced that Seán McGirr will be able to perpetuate its identity by breathing new creative impetus into it,’ said François-Henri Pinault, Chairman and CEO of Kering.
