(AOF) – Kering and Alexander McQueen have announced the appointment of Seán McGirr as Creative Director of the House. He was previously Director of Ready-to-Wear at JW Anderson. Seán McGirr joined JW Anderson in 2020 to take charge of the men’s collections, then added the women’s collections to his responsibilities. Previously, he was Women’s Designer for Dries Van Noten in Antwerp.
From 2014 to 2018, he was part of Uniqlo’s creative teams in Tokyo and Paris, working on Christophe Lemaire’s men’s collections. He started his career as an Assistant for Burberry and Vogue Hommes Japan. An Irish national, he graduated from Central Saint Martins in London, where he obtained a Master of Arts in Fashion in 2014.
