Kerlink: deployment in Vietnam – 03/15/2022 at 10:33

(AOF) – Kerlink, a specialist in solutions dedicated to the Internet of Things (IoT), and VIoT Group, a pioneer in the development of smart cities and industrial parks in Vietnam, today announced their partnership to deploy the first IoT LoRaWAN network in Vietnam. Vietnam nationwide, and VIoT’s project to support Helium’s network, “The People’s Network”.

The company said the initial phase of rolling out its LoRaWAN IoT network, comprising around 350 Kerlink gateways, will be completed by the end of May and will cover six Vietnamese cities and municipalities this year. The second phase, which will see the installation of approximately 1,400 additional Kerlink gateways, should be completed by the end of 2022, and thus cover 10 additional cities by the start of 2023.

“These deployments will enable Vietnamese factories, businesses, cities and consumers to benefit from cost-effective, easy-to-deploy vertical wireless solutions, and use Helium’s global, decentralized network of hotspots to change traditional models of subscription from telecom operators. Think AirBnB or Grab for telecom operators: if I have an empty room, electricity and internet, why not use it as a high point to participate in the network ?”, said Viet Nguyen – Founder and CEO of VIoT Group.

The Middle East ESC

Still relatively unknown compared to the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the Gitex (Gulf Information Technology Exhibition) in Dubai has existed since 1981 and attracts around 100,000 visitors a year. Even if it wants to compete with the CES in Las Vegas, and the region is a very tech-savvy market, the Gitex remains, despite its internationalization, still a regional hub for technology. The CES makes it possible to cover the United States, North America and Europe at the same time, while the Gitex rather covers the Middle East, Africa and South Asia. In 2021 this event took place at the same time as the Universal Exhibition in Dubai. France was the second most represented country, behind Italy.
