(Boursier.com) — Kerlink a specialist in solutions dedicated to the Internet of Things (IoT), and SRETT, a French supplier of IoT-based systems promoting industrial operational efficiency, today announced the implementation of a monitoring system for remote equipment enabling a major international energy producer to significantly reduce its carbon footprint and improve day-to-day operations in Nigeria.

Built around SRETT’s industrial-grade Kerlink Wirnet iStation gateways and Bumblebee sensors, as well as data management software for LoRaWAN networks, the Nigerian gas field’s automated monitoring system enables the company to optimize weekly employee trips to 25 oil and gas wells and reduce vehicle carbon emissions by 62,400 kg per year. In addition to reducing employee travel, the system improves production by limiting well downtime days.
