After Christine Baumgartner files for divorce from Kevin Costner, he demands her move out according to a clause in the marriage contract.

After filing for divorce, she is now said to be moving out of his house: As the US magazine “People” reports, Hollywood star Kevin Costner (68) demands from his wife Christine Baumgartner (49) that she vacates the property in California by mid-July. This emerges from current court documents available to “People”.

According to the report, the document states that Kevin Costner “politely requests that Christine be directed to vacate his residence immediately and no later than July 13, 2023.” According to the actor’s lawyers, Baumgartner is currently “grasping at straws with baseless argument after baseless argument” as to why she should be allowed to stay.

Clause in the marriage contract regulates moving out

The couple’s marriage contract should contain a clause that Baumgartner must move out of the property in Santa Barbara within 30 days in the event of separation. This deadline has now passed, the handbag designer filed for divorce on May 1, 2023.

According to the People report, the new court documents are in response to a June 28 motion by Baumgartner, in which she said it was “just not true” that she wouldn’t vacate the house. She said she would move out of Costner’s home by August 31, assuming a child support agreement was reached by then.

In order to set up a “reasonable separate household” for Cayden, 16, Hayes, 14, and Grace, 13, she’s asking for alimony of $248,000 a month. However, Costner dismissed this number as “exaggerated”.

Christine Baumgartner filed for divorce from Kevin Costner in early May after 18 years of marriage due to “irreconcilable differences”. According to the marriage contract, she is entitled to $1.4 million, which Costner is apparently willing to pay. In the new court document, his attorneys also reportedly listed local real estate listings in Santa Barbara as evidence that there were homes “in close proximity to Kevin’s home” that Baumgartner could afford. In addition, Costner has already offered her several times to help with the move.
