Next level of escalation in the dispute over maintenance payments from Kevin Costner to his wife Christine Baumgartner.

The court dispute between Kevin Costner (68) and his wife Christine Baumgartner (49) about child support is entering the next round. According to the US magazine “People”, Baumgartner has applied for an increase in the monthly amount for the three children together. Instead of the $129,000 that the actor is currently paying, she is asking for $175,000. Her lawyer now proposed a compromise. He named an amount of $161,000. Far more than the 60,000 that Costner’s attorneys brought into play.

According to reports, Christine Baumgartner is primarily concerned with maintaining the standard of living of her three children. She has sons Cayden, 16, and Hayes, 14, and daughter Grace, 13, with the “Bodyguard” star.

Luxury “in DNA” of children

A life of luxury is “in the DNA” of the children, argued Baumgartner’s lawyer. He listed the family’s properties and the various sports the celebrity offspring are used to. It is much more than luxury, explained Christine Baumgartner herself about the life of her children. “It’s a lifetime experience”. According to “People”, she is said to have burst into tears.

According to Baumgartner’s attorneys, “the court has a duty to determine child support so that the children, when with Christine, can lead a lifestyle relatively comparable to that which they lead when with their father.”

Christine Baumgartner filed for divorce on May 1, 2023 – because of “irreconcilable differences”. The couple married in 2004. According to a court order, the former handbag designer had to leave the common house on July 31, 2023.
