His estranged wife has to move out this month
After 18 years of marriage and three children, Christine Baumgartner and Kevin Costner are now communicating through their attorneys.

A judge has ruled that Kevin Costner’s estranged wife must move out by the end of July.
Kevin Costner (68) won a court victory against his wife Christine Baumgartner (49). She has until July 31 to move out of the Santa Barbara property. The reports the US portal “TMZ”, citing the written judgment of the judge.
The judge follows the marriage contract
According to “TMZ”, the judge enforced a provision of the marriage contract. It was stipulated that Baumgartner would have a certain amount of time to vacate the house in the event of a divorce suit. Costner then requested in court that his wife should vacate the Californian villa by July 13th. Baumgartner had stated that she wanted to move out on August 31.
Her lawyers called a quick move “unfair” because Baumgartner didn’t have enough time and money to find a suitable apartment. That’s why they’re now asking for an extension until August 15. As “TMZ” writes, the judge did not follow this argument. He dismissed a postponement as “unfounded”.
Does she have to pay back $1.5 million?
Kevin’s lawyer Laura Wasser (55), who has already looked after many prominent divorce cases, advocated sticking to the marriage contract. According to the motto: A deal is a deal. The judge obviously saw it that way too. His decision could be an important step in the divorce process. Because in November it should be negotiated whether the marriage contract of the ex-couple is valid. If the judge continues to rule “per marriage contract”, it could have major financial consequences for Baumgartner. According to TMZ, she would then have to return the $1.5 million that Costner had already transferred to her. And she would also have to pay his legal fees incurred defending the marriage contract.
Christine Baumgartner filed for divorce from the Hollywood star in early May after 18 years of marriage due to “irreconcilable differences”. Since then there has not only been a dispute about the house, but also about the finances. In order to be able to set up a “reasonable separate household” for the three children together, he should pay maintenance of $ 248,000 (approx. 227,450 euros) per month. However, the actor rejected this number as “exaggerated”.
