The divorce was “devastating”

Kevin Costner has described the divorce from his ex-partner Christine Baumgartner as a “devastating moment”.
The ex-couple Kevin Costner, 69, and Christine Baumgartner, 50, have been divorced since the beginning of the year. In a new interview the Hollywood star briefly hints at how difficult the separation has obviously been for him. When asked on the show “CBS Mornings” by Gayle King, 69, how he is feeling after the “very public divorce”, the actor explains: “This is a devastating moment. It is huge, it hurt.”

But he is moving forward, says Costner, who has “no other choice”: “My children are looking at me. So I can’t wilt like a daisy. I have to move forward, I have to continue to be who I am – and keep a special eye on who they are.”
He evidently paid particular attention to this during the filming of his new film series “Horizon: An American Saga”, in which Costner also stars his son Hayes, 15. Hayes is one of the three children the actor had with Baumgartner. Even though Baumgartner had no experience, Costner believed that his son could play the role. “I was so proud of him,” he remembers. The two always went to work together and it was “a dream”. In the USA, the first film in the series will be released in cinemas on June 28th, part two will follow on August 16th. In Germany, the first part will not be shown until August 22nd, and the sequel will be released on November 7th.
Costner also has four other children from other relationships. According to US reports from May 2023, Baumgartner, whom he married in 2004, filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason. A spokesman for the actor it was said at the time to “TMZ”that Costner regrets the situation and that the circumstances that led to the filing for divorce were beyond his control. In February 2024, including the US celebrity portal Finally, citing available court documents, reported that the divorce was now final.

Apparently it has not been reassigned yet. Interview with US radio legend Howard Stern70, he recently denied rumors about an alleged relationship with singer Jewel, 50: “Jewel and I are friends. We have never dated. I don’t want these rumors to destroy our friendship because that’s what we have.”
