Christine Baumgartner has left the family estate. Now Kevin Costner’s wife is looking ahead.
Former handbag designer Christine Baumgartner, 49, has been in a detailed divorce battle with her husband Kevin Costner, 68, for weeks. After 18 years of marriage, she had to leave the house they shared. Now she has found a new home not far from her family.
Kevin Costner: Ex Christine ‘hopes there’s less drama now’
As the US magazine “People” reports from an insider from the family environment, Baumgartner is “relieved” and “happy” to have moved out of the family home in Santa Barbara. “Christine hopes there is less drama now,” quotes “People”. “Kevin got what he wanted – she moved out of the family home. Christine is very relieved about that. She’s excited to be moving forward,” the statement continued.
The fact that she moved into a new property not far from her family is said to have been particularly important to the 49-year-old mother of three. She is determined to live as “normal” as possible for her children with Costner, Grace, 13, Hayes, 14, and Cayden, 16. “She stays in the area so as not to disturb the lives of the children. They will go back to school with their friends in the fall,” People reports. “Their only focus is on the children,” it continues.
New house offers sufficient comfort
The new house of the former handbag designer was already presented in a recently published report by the British “Daily Mail”. According to an insider, the newly occupied property in Santa Barbara, California, is said to have a monthly rent of around 35,000 US dollars (equivalent to almost 32,000 euros). It is equipped with four bedrooms, four bathrooms and a swimming pool, a fireplace and a barbecue area.
Despite the new luxury, Baumgartner initially didn’t seem to want to leave the family estate after filing for divorce on May 1. Costner’s attorneys argued that she was making unsubstantiated demands to stay. On July 5, Baumgartner was finally ordered by a court to move out of the family property by July 31.
