As the broadcaster RTLzwei confirmed, Pannewitz takes part in the trash show "Kampf der Realitystars – Schiffbruch am Traumstrand". He had previously watched such formats in front of the television one time or another, the Berlin-born explains his decision in a statement in the "Bild" newspaper.

Willi Herren and Johannes Haller are also participating

"Now I can say: Mad job for the production and everything is mega real. I would not have thought that," says Pannewitz about the show, which was shot in Thailand before the Corona crisis. You quickly forget the cameras and just be yourself. "Whether that was so good in my case … Hmm … you will see it," the ex-kicker continues. It was an "insane experience" for him. In addition, he lost seven kilos during the shooting, but "are twice as good again".

Pannewitz started his career at Hansa Rostock and was already suspended there several times due to unprofessional behavior such as excessive alcohol consumption. In addition, he kept fighting against his visible excess weight. After moving to Bundesliga club VfL Wolfsburg in 2012, Pannewitz disappeared from the big professional stage after a year and only made his comeback with third-division club FC Carl Zeiss Jena in 2017. After good training performance and significant weight loss, he seemed to have made the connection and completed a total of 25 games for the Thuringians. Nevertheless, the club surprisingly canceled the contract with him in January 2019.

In addition to Pannewitz, the station also confirmed other new participants. For example, the two "Love Island" faces Dijana Cvijetic (26) and Marcellino Kremers (27) will be there. In addition, ex-"GNTM" candidate Zoe Saip (19) will be seen as a new candidate.
