Flag bearer of the French delegation during the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics, Kevin Rolland will play his third Olympics. After the bronze in 2014 in Sochi, the freestyle skier hopes to win a new medal that he can proudly show to his two children, and his partner Roma Perrier.
He had the honor of leading the French delegation to the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics in Beijing. Designated flag bearer of the French team with the skier Tessa Worley, Kevin Rolland come a long way. In 2019, the freestyle skier has indeed close to death after having been victim of a heavy fall as he attempted to break a world record for the highest jump from a quarter-pipe. “Symbolically, it’s quite huge. It’s true that two and a half years ago, I was lying on a hospital bed. Doctors came to see me and said: ‘Sir, he going to have to think about doing something other than skiing'”, he confided this Friday, February 4 on France 2. A real fighter, he finally managed to recover from his injuries and presented himself at the Olympic Games in the shoes of an outsider.
On the private side, everything is going well for Kevin Rolland. For more than ten years, the skier has shared the life of a young woman named Roma Perrier. The latter is a former project manager in the events industry who converted toinfluencer since the start of the health crisis. In an interview given to the Lake Annecy tourist office in July 2021, we learn that she grew up in Los Angeles before returning to France at the age of 25. Resident in Paris for several years, the pretty blonde decided to move to Annecy in 2014 to be closer to her darling.
In convalescence, Kevin Rolland becomes a dad for the first time
Kevin Rolland and Roma Perrier are the happy ones today parents of two little boys : Rio, born in May 2019, and Dali, in April 2021. The first birth was also a source of fear for Roma Perrier, because she is intervened only a few days after the terrible accident suffered by the freestyle skier. “The very morning (of the accident, editor’s note), the baby was very low. When I learned that Kevin had fallen and that he was transferred to Grenoble, I felt my child go up in my belly as if he had been afraid”, confided the young woman in 2020 in Paris Match. The little boy will finally be born without any problem and Kevin Rolland will be a happy dad, even if he was then stuck in his hospital bed. “The birth of my son put me in a positive spiral. I was paralyzed in my bed, but I was the happiest of men”, he explained to our colleagues. For the birth of his second son, Kevin Rolland was able to be at the bedside of his partner for childbirth and celebrate as it should be this coming into the world.
