In the opening game of the Bundesliga season, the series champions defeated Eintracht Frankfurt 6-1 away.

Bayern Munich is in excellent form right from the start of the season. After the 5:3 victory in the Supercup against Leipzig, when the champions had already led 3:0 at the break, coach Julian Nagelsmann’s team also showed a dominant appearance at the Bundesliga opener in Frankfurt. The Munich team celebrated a 6-1 gala against Eintracht, the winners of the Europa League.

Dream start thanks to Kimmich and Pavard

Joshua Kimmich put the guests ahead in the 5th minute. In the petard fog caused by the Frankfurt fans, who were still euphoric at the time, the national player scored from a free kick. Eintracht keeper Kevin Trapp didn’t cut a good figure. Only about 5 minutes later, Benjamin Pavard increased.

As a result, the Frankfurters with the Swiss Djibril Sow failed to steer the game in a more pleasant direction. Tuta headed the post (12′) and Jesper Lindström (27′) missed good chances. At the other end, Bayern came close to making it 3-0 with Thomas Müller and Jamal Musiala completing shots on the edge of the goal.

Sadio Mané finally scored the third goal. The new signing from Liverpool was successful against overwhelmed Frankfurt after half an hour. Musiala and Serge Gnabry made the 5-0 lead perfect at the break.

Neuer helps Frankfurt score a consolation goal

The game was of course decided. Frankfurt was still able to improve in the second half. After the supposed 1:5 was not given due to offside in the 56th minute, the hosts were able to cheer a little later. After a major mistake by goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, Randal pushed Kolo Muani into the orphaned goal. But then again it was Bayern Munich who scored the final point with Musiala’s second goal.
