Canadian actress Shirley Douglas (1934-2020) died three days after her 86th birthday on Sunday. This was given by her son, Canadian-born Canadian actor and musician Kiefer Sutherland (53, "24"), known via Twitter.
"My mother, Shirley Douglas, died this morning of complications from pneumonia," he writes. Due to the current coronavirus pandemic, which is particularly difficult for older people, he postulates in brackets that she "did not die in connection with Covid-19".
He also thinks of those affected by corona
"My mother was an extraordinary woman who led an extraordinary life," he recalls the ex-wife (1966-1970) of Donald Sutherland (84). Unfortunately, Shirley Douglas had been struggling with health problems for quite some time and "we as a family knew that this day would come," he explains in his post to some extent.
But Kiefer Sutherland also thinks with affectionate words of all those people "who would have unexpectedly lost their loved ones to the corona virus": "It breaks my heart."
