Killer Coaster on Amazon Prime Video: Have Alexandra Lamy, Audrey Lamy and Chloé Jouannet met real fairground people? One of the creators responds

In “Killer Coaster”, the heroines played by Alexandra Lamy, Audrey Lamy and Chloé Jouannet move around in an amusement park. One of the creators of the series tells us how this foray into the fairground world was organized…

Amazon Prime Video put its new French series entitled Killer Coaster online on Friday September 15. The actresses Alexandra Lamy, Audrey Lamy and Chloé Jouannet all three collaborate here, as a family, for the first time, and play the main roles in this crazy story.

A real amusement park as a setting

The action of this crazy and quite successful project takes place in 1998 in Palavas-les-Flots, in the intriguing and disturbing confines of an amusement park where murders take place!

Sandrine (Alexandra Lamy), a contract worker who is often off the mark, decides to take on this investigation. She then crosses paths with Yvanne (Audrey Lamy) and Carmen (Chloé Jouannet), two fairground girls who are completely opposite… Will they unravel these mysteries that smell like cotton candy?

To film in the middle of the rides, the Killer Coaster teams were able to invest in a real park located in Vias-Plage, the Fabrikus World. But was diving into the fairground environment easy? Nikola Lange, the co-creator of the series with Thomas Mansuy, told AlloCiné about it…

The latter (who also directed the episodes of this first season) explained to us: “Fairground is a profession. (…) We happened to want to talk about this profession. We wanted to show the people behind the rides. (…) It turns out that I have an acquaintance who works there, he’s a childhood friend who is a fairground worker.”

“The fairgrounds were great with us!”

When writing the project, I said two words about it, remembered Nikola Lange. He reread our texts a little… We arrived in Vias, at the funfair, and everyone already knew my friend! Contact was necessarily simpler.

They accompanied us throughout the preparation and advised us during filming on this or that way of doing things. So we entered this environment relatively easily.

I also find that these are people who themselves laugh at the clichés that concern them, he assured us. We didn’t want to focus too much on clichés because they are our heroes and we love them. The idea was not to make fun of it, of course. Besides that, a cliché makes everyone laugh! So we measured it.

In any case, we felt welcome. The fairgrounds were great with us! They trained the girls to do certain gestures, we had drinks together… It was a good atmosphere, a good-natured atmosphere!“Good relations which will once again favor filming during a possible season 2?
