In 2007, thanks to a published sex tape, Kim Kardashian (41) became a global media phenomenon almost overnight – and apparently also a millionaire. The US magazine “TMZ” has now published an email the boss of the porn production company Vivid, Steven Hirsch (61). In it he explains to Kardashian and the musician Ray J (41) – with whom the It-Girl can be seen in the video – how much money the marketing of the tape brought in in the first six days after release: a total of around 1.4 million US Dollar.
The video was shot back in 2002 and subsequently came into the hands of Vivid. To this day, it has not been finally clarified how exactly. However, Kardashian filed a lawsuit against Vivid before the release, which was dismissed. According to observers, however, an out-of-court settlement was reached with the production company before a trial could have taken place.
Did Kris Jenner pick the sex video?
To this day, Ray J claims that Kardashian consented to the publication. He said both he and his former partner raked in $400,000 plus 12.5 percent of the profits. According to Ray J, Kardashian’s mother, Kris Jenner (66), also agreed to the deal and even selected what she believed to be the best from several sex videos of the two.
