Kim Kardashian has spoken out against anti-Semitic remarks after a series of comments made by her ex Kanye West.
Kim Kardashian (42) speaks out after the anti-Semitic statements of her ex-partner, rapper Kanye West (45). In a social media post that has since been deleted, he published corresponding lines earlier this month.
“Hate speech is never okay or excusable”, the reality TV star wrote on Twitter on Monday. “I stand with the Jewish community and demand that the horrific violence and hateful rhetoric against them stop immediately,” Kardashian continued.
Boy George criticized Kim Kardashian
Shortly before this statement, the British musician Boy George (61) had sharply attacked her on social media because she had not condemned the rapper’s statements.
“I’m appalled that more artists haven’t spoken out against his statements,” the Culture Club singer said on Instagram. The post continued, “I am appalled that Kim Kardashian has not spoken out and added her voice to this debate because this woman has children with Kanye so as a mother she needs to understand how it feels for young Jewish children to hear those damn comments about how demoralizing and terrifying it must be.”
Alan O’Dowd, the London native, added: “As a gay man I’ve experienced prejudice for years so the idea of doing this to someone because of their race, color, sexuality or gender is just freaking horrifying to me , and that should be horrific for you, too.”
Solidarity with Resse Witherspoon
Anti-Semitic incidents also erupted in the Los Angeles area over the weekend. Banners with anti-Semitic slogans were unfurled at a highway bridge, and West was quoted as saying “Kanye is right about the Jews.”
Celebrities like Khloé Kardashian, Reese Witherspoon, Isla Fisher and Amy Schumer have expressed their solidarity and on an Instagram post by author Jessica Seinfeld (51) responded with likes. “If you don’t know what to say, you can just say this in your feed,” Seinfeld wrote alongside a graphic that read, “I support my Jewish friends and the Jewish people.”
