The e-merchant has just unveiled its new reading light high-end that includes a stylus for taking notes and annotating your e-books.

The Kindle family welcomes a new member with Kindle Scribe, a premium e-reader that ” joins writing to reading as Amazon explains in its press release.

A Kindle XXL with a 10.2-inch screen

The Kindle Scribe offers a very large 10.2-inch Paperwhite screen, with a resolution of 300 dpi. It has both anti-reflective treatment and full backlighting to ensure excellent readability in broad daylight and under blazing sun.

Amazon goes further to praise the screen of its latest e-reader, explaining that it wanted to ” replicate the feel and fluidity of pen on paper, creating a natural and comfortable experience “. Lighting and color temperature automatically adapt to the brightness of your room.

The reader finally has a thickness of 5.8 mm for a weight of 433 grams.

More than an e-reader: a complete notebook

The real curiosity of Kindle Scribe obviously remains the stylus supplied with the reader. It allows you to annotate your digital books, but also to write notes and resume documents directly imported from your computer.

It is thus possible to write a small handwritten note attached to a page of your current digital book in a window provided for this purpose. The Kindle Scribe can also be transformed into a complete notebook to deposit your ideas and your sketches during the day.

The “Sent to Kindle” feature allows you to retrieve documents from your smartphone or PC to edit them on the eReader. The Kindle application will be updated in early 2023 to synchronize your various notes and automatically send them to Microsoft Word.

Two styluses will be offered by Amazon. The premium stylus will host an “eraser” function as well as a shortcut button. The basic stylus will not include these two features. Both will magnetically attach to the eReader and won’t require charging.

The Kindle Scribe is available for pre-order at a price of €369.99. Deliveries will begin on November 30.
