Whether Prince Harry attends his father’s coronation depends on whether King Charles and Prince William apologize to him. However, the monarch and the heir to the throne are said to have no intention of complying with his request.

King Charles, 74, will be crowned in a few months. Of course, the monarch would also like to have his youngest son with him at the historic event. Prince Harry, 38, it is said, however, is still awaiting an apology from his father and his big brother, Prince William, 40. However, the two are said to have no plans to grant Harry this wish.

The royals are in a ‘toxic standoff’

Royals are in a “toxic stalemate,” as royal family insiders described to the Daily Mail. In less than 70 days, on May 6, 2023, the celebrations for the coronation of Charles and Queen Camilla, 75, will take place. However, there is no end in sight to the feud. “There’s still a lot going on in the family,” explains a source.

Around 2,000 save-the-date invitations are to be sent out, and Prince Harry will most likely have one of them in his mailbox. The formal invitations, to those who have agreed to attend, will not be sent out until three weeks before the actual event.

Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan expect an apology

According to the British publication, the 38-year-old, as a member of the royal family, has long had an “open” invitation to all family events. The repeated attacks by Harry and Duchess Meghan, 41, in interviews, documentaries and books should not have changed that to this day. The couple remain undecided about their plans for the coronation ceremony. A statement by journalist Omid Scobie, who is closely connected to the Sussexes, also suggests this. He explained a few days ago that “no one knows their plans at the moment – the couple have yet to be invited and cannot make a decision or any form of travel planning until that happens”.

In Great Britain, this statement is met with derision. According to the Daily Mail, people involved in the coronation planning describe it as “the Sussexes’ classic opt-out clause”. “As if a piece of gold-embossed paper would change everything,” says an insider, “the problem goes much, much deeper.”

In interviews in January, Prince Harry made it abundantly clear what he expects from his father and brother. Journalist Tom Skyes also considers it unlikely that Charles will sit down with his son before one of the most important events in his life. “Charles loves Harry and wants him to be there. But he has a coronation to organize,” he recently wrote in Daily Beast. “He just won’t have the time to organize a separate meeting with Harry.”
