King Charles
Spilled! He would have liked to have done that differently at the coronation concert
It has been almost half a year since the coronation of King Charles and Queen Camilla. Now the monarch himself has revealed which aspect of the celebrations he later regrets.
King Charles: This is why his coronation concert wasn’t perfect
On the evening of October 19th, King Charles and Queen Camilla, 76, hosted a reception at Buckingham Palace to thank the helpers who attended both the funeral of Queen Elizabeth, †96, and Charles’ coronation have shown commitment. The couple invited representatives from various sectors of government, church, police, volunteers and the creative arts. King Charles used the joint event not only to thank him personally, but also to reflect on the major events.
In a conversation with Neil Walter, who was responsible for parking in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, the king explained what he didn’t like about his coronation concert, according to the British newspaper “Mirror”. And that wasn’t the musicians on stage, nor the atmosphere or celebration itself – but simply his seat. “He said next time he would like to be closer,” Walter remembers the conversation, “or bring his binoculars.” It remains to be seen when the king will be able to celebrate the next major event in this class. But it should already be clear where Charles is sitting: in the very front row.
