With a light board in Piccadilly Circus or several birthday serenades: King Charles was celebrated in many places on his birthday.

King Charles III celebrated his 75th birthday on Tuesday (November 14) at various locations. After an appointment in Oxfordshire, the king hosted a reception in the evening “to honor the nurses and midwives working in the United Kingdom,” it is said in an Instagram post from the Royal Family with a series of pictures from the event.

The British health system NHS will be 75 years old in 2023. “The event – part of the NHS75 celebrations – fortunately coincides with His Majesty’s 75th birthday,” the post continues. The NHS choir took part in the event and sang a serenade to the monarch. The king was visibly relaxed and in a good mood at the reception, as the photos from the event show.

This birthday serenade was not the only performance that day. Charles and his wife Queen Camilla (76) officially launched the Coronation Food Project against food waste in Didcot in south Oxfordshire at midday. There sang the employees also for the king. In the afternoon The Irish Guards band played for the King and Queen at Buckingham Palace and performed their rendition of “Happy Birthday.”

“Thanks a lot for all the good wishes”

The Royal Family’s official account also shared two pictures from Piccadilly Circus via Instagram. Because on the famous light board on the square in London’s West End, a picture of the monarch with a congratulation and a reference to his Coronation Food Project shone this Tuesday. In the post Thanks were also expressed to all well-wishers. “Thank you for all the congratulations on His Majesty’s 75th birthday today,” it says.

As the British “Daily Mail” also reported, the king’s birthday was celebrated in many places with gun salutes. Among other things, 41 gun salutes were fired in London’s Green Park, 62 in the Tower of London and 21 in Edinburgh. A day earlier, King Charles III. celebrated his birthday with several guests and a three-tier cake at a small tea party at the Highgrove House country estate in Gloucestershire.
