The palace recently announced that King Charles III. (75) will soon attend his first official appointment since his cancer diagnosis. On April 30, he visited a cancer treatment center with his wife, Queen Camilla (76). Among other things via Instagram it was said that this date was chosen to emphasize the special “milestone”. A palace insider is now talking about what exactly the royals want to show with the visit.

The king and queen hoped to show that cancer “not only affects those who have cancer, but everyone around them,” says the anonymous source quoted by the British Telegraph. That’s why Charles and Camilla asked to meet not only patients, but also their families. “Although every patient is different, one of the things they hope to do is show and experience how people can lead fulfilling lives during treatment, not just afterward,” it continues. “Cancer can be a scary word, but it doesn’t have to be a scary experience.”
