Statement after cancer diagnosis

King Charles III has now made a statement himself after his cancer diagnosis. He was grateful “for the supportive messages.”
A statement that the world has been waiting for for days: King Charles III, 75, spoke out personally for the first time after his cancer diagnosis was announced. On the Royal Family’s Instagram account A lengthy statement was released from the palace in which Charles thanked Charles “warmly” for the “many messages of support and good wishes” he had received over the past few days.
King Charles: Condolences and messages for him “the greatest consolation”
“As anyone with cancer knows, such kind thoughts are the greatest comfort and encouragement,” Charles continued. He said he was pleased that his cancer diagnosis had helped “to promote public understanding and shine a light on the work of all those organizations that support cancer patients and their families in the UK and around the world.”
The palace also published a photo of Charles in which he is currently visiting one of the organizations in question and is beaming and shaking the hands of the medical assistants. The post ends with the words: “My lifelong admiration for your tireless care and dedication is made all the greater by my personal experience.”
It is the first time that Charles has spoken out following his cancer diagnosis, which was discovered during tests during a hospital stay for prostate surgery. His wife Queen Camilla, 76, assured a few days ago during an appointment in Salisbury, England, that her husband was doing “extremely well given the circumstances” and that he was “very touched by all the letters and messages” that had reached him.
Charles comes to London
While Charles is undergoing treatment, he should not make any public appointments or appearances on medical advice. The palace said he wanted to continue to take care of state business. Next week, Charles is due to temporarily leave the Sandringham country estate, where he is currently recovering, for a few personal appointments in London.
