Prince Harry rushes to his father’s side

Yesterday, Monday evening, the world was shocked by the news that the British monarch, King Charles III, was suffering from cancer. Although the relationship between father and son was recently considered cold, Charles apparently informed Prince Harry personally on the phone about his cancer diagnosis. Harry is said to have then gotten on the next plane heading home. We took an eleven-hour flight from British Airways to London.

It is unclear whether Prince Harry has already visited his sick father in the meantime. It has not yet been officially announced where the prince will spend the night in England. According to British media, Charles is currently recovering in Clarence House, while Harry could be staying in the currently vacant Frogmore Cottage.

Will Prince Harry and King Charles reconcile?

Since King Charles’ cancer diagnosis became known, royal observers have raised hopes that the family could become closer together again in these difficult times. Kristina Kyriacou, the king’s former press secretary, revealed to the Daily Mirror: “Charles adores Harry. He didn’t want this alienation.”

Kyriacou also expresses the hope that Prince Harry, King Charles, Queen Camilla (76) and Harry’s brother Prince William (41) could be reunited due to the monarch’s illness. In this case, “good news would have emerged from bad news,” said Kyriacou.
