King Charles III (74) expresses its condolences to the families of the victims of the fire disaster in the US state of Hawaii. “My wife and I were deeply shocked to learn of the wildfires currently raging in Maui, Hawaii,” he wrote in a candid statement Letter to US President Joe Biden (80).

“As inadequate as it may be”: Charles and his wife Camilla (76) want to express their “deepest condolences” to the families of those “who have lost their lives so tragically”. “Our prayers are with all of those whose loved ones are missing and whose homes have been destroyed,” Charles continued.

The British king’s thoughts are also with the “extraordinarily brave rescue workers”. Charles also remembers the Maui residents who offer to help.

Nearly 100 dead in Maui and Hawaii wildfires

Forest fires have been raging in the US state of Hawaii since the beginning of August, especially on the island of Maui. A state of emergency was declared for the first time on August 8th.

According to official information, at least 93 people have fallen victim to the fire so far. About 100 people are still missing. Over 2,000 buildings are said to have been destroyed. Officials say it’s the deadliest forest fire in the United States in more than 100 years.

In addition to King Charles III. other celebrities have spoken out. Dwayne Johnson (51), who grew up in Hawaii posted an emotional video message on Instagram. The Hollywood star said his heart was broken and called for donations.

Hawaii-born Jason Momoa (44, “Aquaman”) had previously appealed to his followers not to fly to the island of Maui for tourist purposes.
