After the coronation of Charles III. will continue to be celebrated in the UK on May 7th and 8th. It all started on Sunday with “Lunch”.
In honor of the newly crowned royal couple Charles III. (74) and Camilla (75) there are more celebrations in Great Britain. First of all, street festivals and so-called “big lunches” are on the program throughout the country and beyond on Sunday (May 7th). Members of the royal family are also expected to attend lunch together. Meanwhile, a spokesman for the royal couple said they were “deeply touched” by the great attendance at the coronation.
The king’s siblings and nieces are on duty
Charles’ brother Edward (59) and his wife Sophie (58) attend the Big Lunch in Cranleigh, Surrey, as the “BBC” reports. Sister Anne, 72, and her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, 68, attend the parish street festival in Swindon. Since brother Andrew (63) is no longer a working member of the royal family, his daughters are working instead. Princess Beatrice, 34, and Princess Eugenie, 33, will attend a grand luncheon in Chalfont St Giles, Buckinghamshire. The Prime Minister Rishi Sunak (42) also invites you to Downing Street. There, long tables were set with British flags and royal crockery.
Buckingham Palace said the Big Lunch was designed to “bring neighbors and communities together to celebrate the coronation and share friendship, food and fun”. The royal couple sent in a story on his Instagram page warm greetings to all participants. Hopefully it will be an enjoyable event for everyone. Camilla has been a patron of the initiative for ten years and has attended The Big Lunch events across the UK and around the world. At the end of the celebrations for the 70th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s throne (1926-2022), Britons all over the country celebrated together with picnics.
The royal couple even personally selected a recipe for the “Coronation Big Lunch”. Participants are recommended to eat a “Coronation Quiche” together on May 7th. Around ten million people are expected to attend more than 60,000 meetings on five continents. There will also be community events dedicated to the British crown in Canada, Hong Kong, South Africa, Australia, Bangladesh and France.
Coronation concert with Katy Perry and Take That
The Coronation Concert will be held at Windsor Castle on Sunday evening. It starts at 8pm local time (9pm German time) and will be broadcast live on BBC One and BBC Radio 2. Stars like Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, Take That, Olly Murs and Paloma Faith take the stage to honor the royal couple.
Charles and Camilla will attend the concert. There will also be a joint performance by the Royal Ballet, the Royal Opera House, the Royal Shakespeare Company, the Royal College of Music and the Royal College of Art.
The British have Monday off
On Monday (May 8th) Great Britain is still all about the coronation of the century. The British are granted a special holiday. The royal couple called on the day off to serve a good cause. There will be charity projects across the country.
