King Charles III will give a bonus to his staff due to inflation

The royal staff officiating in the palaces of the institution at Buckingham, Balmoral or Windsor, brings together 491 members.

King Charles III will grant a bonus to his staff to counter inflation which has reached 10% in the United Kingdom. According to the British newspaper The Guardian the staff will indeed receive at the end of the year bonuses of up to 600 pounds (about 685 euros).

The same newspaper reported in September, after the death of Queen Elizabeth II, that dozens of staff at Clarence House, the residence of the Prince of Wales, had received their dismissal letters, due to the move to Buckingham of the new King.

The bonus granted by Charles III will be decreasing according to the income level of the staff members. Those earning less than £30,000 a year will receive £600 and the bonus will decrease the higher the annual salary. Thus, members receiving a salary of 40,000 to 45,000 pounds will receive a bonus of 350 pounds. In all, the royal staff officiating in the palaces of the institution at Buckingham, Balmoral or Windsor brings together 491 members.

The king gives money out of his own pocket to the lowest paid people working for the house, to help them cope with the cost of living crisis“, confided a”royal source” the newspaper The Sun .
